Looking to build a playlist of songs that mention the height of
someone...examples:
"Five foot two, eyes of blue,
But oh! what those five foot could do!"
- from "Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue" by Tiny Hill
"Eight foot two, solid blue,
Five transistors in each shoe"
- from "Eight Foot Two, Solid Blue" by Allan Sherman (parody of the above)
"Ev'ry mornin' at the mine you could see him arrive
He stood six foot six and weighed two forty five"
- from "Big Bad John" by Jimmy Dean
"Six foot six he stood on the ground,
He weighed two hundred and thirty-five pounds"
- from "A Thing Called Love" by Johnny Cash (also Elvis and Jerry Reed)
"Now, Leroy more than trouble
You see he stand 'bout six foot four"
- from "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" by Jim Croce
"36-24-36?
Only if she's five-three!"
- from "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot
"There was a man - what a man! - looking down on me
Tall dark and handsome, six foot three"
- from "Peter the Meter Reader" by Meri Wilson
"You gave to me your all and all.
Now I feel ten feet tall."
- from "Sunny" by Bobby Hebb
"Now she may be small, just three feet tall
But if you give her half a chance
She'll pin you to the wall"
- from "Bridget the Midget" by Ray Stevens
I have a feeling there's a lot more of the female ones in fifties and early
sixties doo-wop type stuff, but I can't think of any specific examples....r

"Keep your eye on the Bishop. I want to know when
he makes his move", said the Inspector, obliquely.
