Probably 'It's My Party', originally a hit in the 60s for Lesley Gore,
but there was also a hit version in the 80s by Dave Stewart and Barbara
Gaskin.

That may well be, but "It's My Party" by Lesley Gore (where the title line was
followed by "and I'll cry if I want to") was a song from 1963....r

Indeed it was, but the Dave Stewart/Barbara Gaskin remake was in 1981.
