I am looking for the lyrics and the artist who sang This old house. Not
the Rosemary Cooney one, but one that would be heard on a country station.
It has beautiful dobro music in it.
The house is talking about the family moving out. And how the house kept
them warm, and the house knew where the extra key was, and how they slid
down the banister and how worn the floors were. I am thinking it was a
hit, but not a big one..
I checked cowpie and only the Rosemary Clooney version of the song title
is there.
Thanks in advance for any help. I was at a restaurant last night and
the guitar singer was singing it, and he also thought the title was This Old
House, but possibly that is not the right title.

Googling for "country", "lyrics", and "old house" gives me this:

Is that the one you're looking for?

Sorry, I meant - do you know who sang the song and if it is on an album?
On www.allmusic.com I found two artists who did a song called "This Old House"
by Bickhardt and Schuyler:

Bridget Ball, on the album "Songs from the Big Front Porch: A Celebration of
American Folk Music

The Rice Brothers, on three albums, "Bluegrass Class of 1990", "True to
Tradition: Bluegrass Essentials vol 2" and "Old Home Place: Bluegrass and
Old-Time Mountain Music"

There are others listed with no composer that may also be the same song, as well
as other songs with the same title but a different composer (Stuart Hamblen's
seems to be the most popular)....r
