I have been trying to find the correct lyrics for this song which I
believe dates back to WW II.
For years I have known a parody of it:

Be kind to your web-footed friend,
For a duck may be somebody's brother.
He lives on the edge of a swamp,
Where the weather is always domp!! (Damp)
You may think that this is the end,
Well it is........

Can anyone help please?

You're not going to find lyrics for the original, because it was an
instrumental....

That's "The Stars and Stripes Forever" by John Philip Sousa, written on
Christmas Day 1896....r

It's the crack on the wall and the stain on the cup that gets to you
in the very end...every cat has its fall when it runs out of luck,
so you can do with a touch of zen...cause when you're screwed,
you're screwed...and when it's blue, it's blue.

I think that was a later edition for purposes of a football (Association)
song. Like Guantanamera has been purloined for "One David Beckham ...
There's only one David Beckham" (and a gazillion other multi-syllable
players) or "Ten Little Indians" was converted into "You're going home in an
Oxford Ambulance" (again, insert city of choice) or "Knees up Mother Brown"
begat "Who ate all the Pies?".

Oh! Now I understand, John. Thank you. I obviously don't attend football
games. Haha!

Uh, correction to my earlier post; there *are* lyrics to the march:

Let martial note in triumph float
And liberty extend its mighty hand
A flag appears 'mid thunderous cheers,
The banner of the Western land.
The emblem of the brave and true
Its folds protect no tyrant crew;
The red and white and starry blue
Is freedom's shield and hope.

Other nations may deem their flags the best
And cheer them with fervid elation
But the flag of the North and South and West
Is the flag of flags, the flag of Freedom's nation.

[and here comes the part that got used for the "duck" version]

Hurrah for the flag of the free!
May it wave as our standard forever,
The gem of the land and the sea,
The banner of the right.
Let despots remember the day
When our fathers with mighty endeavor
Proclaimed as they marched to the fray
That by their might and by their right
It waves forever.

Let eagle shriek from lofty peak
The never-ending watchword of our land;
Let summer breeze waft through the trees
The echo of the chorus grand.
Sing out for liberty and light,
Sing out for freedom and the right.
Sing out for Union and its might,
O patriotic sons.

Other nations may deem their flags the best
And cheer them with fervid elation,
But the flag of the North and South and West
Is the flag of flags, the flag of Freedom's nation.

Hurrah for the flag of the free.
May it wave as our standard forever
The gem of the land and the sea,
The banner of the right.
Let despots remember the day
When our fathers with mighty endeavor
Proclaimed as they marched to the fray,
That by their might and by their right

Proclaimed as they marched to the fray
Only this time a little bit higher.

Hello - I thank you for this - but I still do not understand where the
title:
"Here we go, here we go, here we go" comes from.
Someone must know.

Thank you. I was beginning to think that maybe it was a family
