Collecting songs that mention signs of the zodiac
(too old to reply)

From the top 40, and limiting myself to the titles, I find:

"Taurus" by Spirit
"Gemini Dream" by the Moody Blues
"Scorpio" by Dennis Coffey
"Age of Aquarius" by the Fifth Dimension
"Son of Sagittarius" by Eddie Kendricks

I'm also aware of "Jesus Was a Capricorn" by Kris Kristofferson, and digging
into the lyrics there's a whole bunch of them in "Float On" by the
Floaters...can the assembled throng (or just the throng kit, with some assembly
required) help me fill out a full set of twelve?....

I'm willing to use Warren Zevon's "Play It All Night Long" with the line
"Grandma's dying of cancer now" if nothing more properly astrological comes up,
but let's consider that Plan B for the moment....r

Supremes did a semi-obscure, but Top 40 song
called "No Matter What Sign You Are" ,
which might have named all of them.

And you're limiting yourself to the Latin version? (Otherwise "Like a
Virgin" would fit fine.)
I know Motorhead have a song "Capricorn" but I dunno if it charted
anywhere. And Jamiroquai have "Black Capricorn Day."
Tori Amos had "Goodbye Pisces"
In fact, if you use the title search here
http://www.leoslyrics.com/search.php
you'll get a pretty good selection.

I could probably find Chinese songs with the equivalent signs of *their*
zodiac...maybe for the second disc....

I imagine it's too much to hope that someone has actually managed to work
Ophiuchus (the constellation crosses the ecliptic but isn't generally considered
an astrological sign) into a song....r

It's possible someone somewhere has set Paradise Lost to music:

On th' other side,
Incensed with indignation, Satan stood
Unterrified, and like a comet burned,
That fires the length of Ophiuchus huge
In th' arctic sky, and from his horrid hair
Shakes pestilence and war.

Too much to hope? Not at all:

Order From Chaos

Ophiuchus Rex lyrics

I drove down the social spirals
Towards inferior eternities
Still Clutching the ideal-
The masks of fabled greatness
Men like gods?
Humankind is insignificance
Personified

Memories fade
Burned to death by futurity
Legacies vanish
Consumed by worms
What is a drop to the storm
that bursts it?
Meaningless wretch of the womb
that birthed it

My spiral dance complete
I hail the rushing earth

Ophiuchus...

Men like gods (you are weak)
Hail the rushing earth
Spiral dance complete
Hail the rushing earth

The inexorable conquest-
I stare at my cremation
Its yearning, cleansing flames
As cinders, ash and dust
Become the extent
Of my remains...

From brief search of local lyrics DB; it'll be easier if you find the
lyrics yourself - email me if not... You'll also have to check that
they're appropriate or not to your purpose. Also, these are not limited to

Stevie Wonder, "I Just Called to Say I Love You" ("No Libra sun/No
Halloween").

Also, for Cancer: Snap, "Rhythm Is a Dancer" ("I'm serious as cancer").

Shel Silverstein's "The Man Who Got No Sign" mentions all of them,
though it's more spoken than sung. It's on his album "Freakin' At The
Freakers Ball".

-- In the B52's tune 'Song For a Future Generation', all five original
members introduce themselves in the song & all make reference to their
sign of the zodiac.
Here are the lyrics in question, extrapolated from various parts of the
song.:

Hey, I'm Fred the Cancerian from New Jersey
I like collecting records and exploring
The cave of the unknown

Hello, I'm Cindy, I'm a Pisces
And I like chihuahuas and
Chinese noodles

Hi, my name is Ricky and I'm a Pisces
I love computers and hot tamales

Hey, I'm Kate and I am a Taurus
I love tomatoes and black-capped
Chickadees

Hey, my name is Keith and I'm a
Scorpio from Athens, G-A and I like
To find the essence from within

"Gemini"--Alan Parsons Project

Also, raunchy musical comedian Blowfly released two albums based on the
zodiac, Zidiac Blowfly and Blowfly's Zodiac Party. Haven't heard them, so
I can't tell you if they're songs or not.

A little Australian feel here...

"I Am Pegasus" by Ross Ryan mentions "Sagittarius"
"Capricorn Dancer" by Richard Clapton ( nice 70's west coast-y feel, this
one.)
"I Just Called To Say I Love You" by Stevie Wonder, has a Libra Sun...

She said her name was star.
So I pushed her over....
