The song "Words, don't come easy" was a huge hit in the early 80s and
I remember it as being song by F R David. However, I have been told
that Demis Roussos (spelling?) is the artist that had a major hit with
"Words". Is anyone able to confirm one way or another?

Thanks

It was FR David. Granted he did sound a little like Roussos. This from
another website:

This was a smash hit for F. R. David in the UK in 1983, and in many
other countries of the world. The Frenchman penned this himself under
his real name of Fitoussi, and surprised many purchasers of the record
when they realised that it was a man singing!
Both this track and the the B side "When The Sun Goes Down" were taken
from the album titled "Words". It was swiftly followed by another
single "Music", also from the same album though enjoying only minor
success, bringing his single releases to an end.
